Compliance Calendar
Businesses in Canada

T2 corporate return filing:  
Due   six months   after fiscal year-end.

Corporate balance-due day:  
Generally   two months   after year-end;   three months   for eligible CCPCs meeting CRA conditions.

GST/HST:

  • Monthly/Quarterly filers — return and payment due   one month   after the end of the period.

  • Annual filers — generally   three months   after year-end (with specific exceptions for individuals filing annually).

BC PST returns   (if registered): due by the   last day of the month   following the reporting period.

T4/T5 information returns:  
due by the   last day of February   for the prior calendar year.

Books & records:  
keep records for   six years   from the end of the last tax year they relate to.

Quarter/Year-end package:  
tax schedules (CCA, GST/HST recon), working papers, support files, and a clean handoff to your CPA/tax preparer.

Reporting Systems:  
cash runway, budget vs actuals, AR collections, tax calendar, SR&ED evidence links.

Onboarding

2-3 Weeks

Intake checklist: 
legal entity details, prior year financials and returns, bank access, payroll provider, sales tax accounts, chart of accounts, product taxes, inventory method.

Setup & cleanup: 
reconcile opening balances, map products/taxes, implement roles & approvals, publish a close calendar.

First close & handoff: 
deliver month-one close, confirm recurring filings, and set KPI targets.
